Project materials
-
Project document - contains meeting notes; links to meeting videos & chat transcripts & closed captions transcripts for all meetings; full project history. Access to members and by request.
- File directory (Google Drive folder) - to store all project files generally (except bits on other platforms, e.g. web site on Wix, and meetings videos currently stored on Housing Alternatives Network's Google Workspace because much more storage capacity there).
- committee and team members can and are encouraged to access to this (go to it, click on Request Access) for working on any project matters.
- Google account for project: orcoophousing@gmail.com - this is a free Google account intended to be a permanent, stable administration point for the project. It serves as a general contact email address, also used to sign up for any other services used, domain-name registration, storage of files, etc. Notices and correspondence that should be kept for records/archive should be cc-ed there.

Project history
Oregon Cooperative Housing Network basically originated in a Twitter thread 23 Jan, 2021, initiated by Mark Hogan, architect in San Francisco, to which Tim McCormick responded, then looped in Garlynn Woodsong because of knowing / previously discussing Garlynn's interest in economic small-plex developments.

That discussion eventually led to forming OCHN as an applicant for grant funding in the Meyer Memorial Trust's annual funding opportunity, April 2021. While this grant was not awarded, the project reformed and continued organizing, and in late 2021 received some funding from SquareOne Villages, in Eugene, OR, under an existing Meyer grant, to support an Organizing Coordinator, for which Tim McCormick was selected.

In late 2021 we widely announced and held two general organizing meetings, launched an open announcements & discussion email/web forum, and invited nominations to and chose an interim Organizing Committee. As of February 2022 we are holding bi-weekly organizing meetings with a remit to develop organization bylaws, establish regular General meetings and membership policy.
